Nursery & General FAQs
We take great pride in supplying trees and shrubs of exceptional quality. When planted properly by a customer, hardy nursery stock is guaranteed for 6 months, provided it has been properly watered and maintained. There is no guarantee on Tropical Plants, Emerald Green Arborvitae or Sub Alpine Trees. Sale or Clearance items are not guaranteed. Certain problems not covered by our warranty include: lack of water, salt/insect/animal damage or extreme frost/heat/other weather extremes.
Original receipt is required for all warranties as well as the deceased plant itself or a picture of it. Refunds will be in the form of store credit – no cash refunds.
Dig a hole three times the width of the root ball but no deeper. Thoroughly mix compost in with the soil at a ratio of 1:2 (one part compost to 2 parts soil). Add an all-purpose fertilizer to the mix. Then cut any strings at the top of the burlap bag and fold the burlap away from the trunk so that the top third of the root ball is visible. Do not remove burlap, as burlap keeps feeder roots intact.
Plant with one quarter of the root ball above ground level and three quarters below ground level. Build up a water well so as to assure deep watering. Water in well for the first two years, making sure the plant is receiving adequate water but isn’t overwatered. Do not rely on sprinkler systems or rain to provide water for a new plant until it is established (approx. 2 years). The root ball should have some give and be moist when the root ball is pushed on.
